That being fully digested and understood, do any of the stock programs have a feature that tells you how many words you have written in a specific piece? Or am I going to have to count each word one by one?

I don't even have Microsoft Word for some reason. But I'm downloading something that I guess will handle it all the same. I didn't see a word counter anywhere in NotePad or WordPad.

And OpenOffice is great if not pretty much the same thing as MS Office, save for the fact that it's free.
