Probably a really stupid question; but consider the source...

I never use any word program on my computer other than Notepad. That being fully digested and understood, do any of the stock programs have a feature that tells you how many words you have written in a specific piece? Or am I going to have to count each word one by one?

Well of course when I read Word my mind interpreted it as WordPad. I don't even have Microsoft Word for some reason. But I'm downloading something that I guess will handle it all the same. I didn't see a word counter anywhere in NotePad or WordPad.

Perhaps it came on a disc with the computer that I have ignored up until this point. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't preloaded. I don't remember ever uninstalling it.

My laptop didn't come with an office suite, either. Which I'm glad, because I was one of the early adopters of Vista and had yet to realize how UGLY and HORRIBLE the interface for MS Office 2007 was. I mean, there was nothing wrong with it before, but they just had to fag up the menus and hide all the shit I actually use.

Maybe that's just the default that my college's computers are stuck with, but god damn. Shit's horrible.

And OpenOffice is great if not pretty much the same thing as MS Office, save for the fact that it's free.

I like the newest Word, or the whole MS Office 2007 in general. >_>
I loved the fact that I pirated it also.

Google a word counter. You can just copypasta a report and it'll give you a number

Problem resolved but thanks for obvious information such as that, which I never considered doing.
