He was at times in comic strips a failed street magician because his lack of thumbs severely hindered his aptitude at sleight of hand. I wish I had some of the original stuff to scan and post here. At one point another person made a rival character named The Whipperwill and we had a mock up movie poster with them facing off back to back, guns drawn, explosions in the background. Don't expect results until tonight or tomorrow morning.
