I don't know if this topic belongs here, but now it's here (really hope there's no other poem topic) Anyway, one of the things I'm really into is writing poems and stories. This is one of my favorites: Bloody blue strawberry lips whispering fear thoughts are running too slow, while death is crawling near Because life is like a riddle and the answer has died Your cold last kiss whishes us goodnight for she had left the future and became the past. |

Stay away from me and my heart You've had your chance, while I'm not feeling better. You think it's ok, but it's tearing me apart this was our last dance together Forget what I said, forget what you saw This was on me your final attack. You've crossed the border within my law, so all I can say is: watch your back. |

The moment I wake up Before I put on my makeup I say a little prayer for you While combing my hair, now, And wondering what dress to wear, now, I say a little prayer for you Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever, forever, we never will part Oh, how I'll love you Together, together, that's how it must be To live without you Would only be heartbreak for me. I run for the bus, dear, While riding I think of us, dear, I say a little prayer for you. At work I just take time And all through my coffee break-time, I say a little prayer for you. Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever, forever we never will part Oh, how I'll love you Together, together, that's how it must be To live without you Would only be heartbreak for me. My darling believe me, For me there is no one But you. |

Our Labyrinth Dance with me, dance with me Whisper words that will make me shiver. Take me to your gloomy world. While drowning in a bloody river. Embrace my body, embrace my soul. Your eyes are full of mystery. Am I still your only love? Have you forgotten our history? Ever since my love has had hold you tight, the one with the deserted heart. I hear the pain calling you out at night. The pain that rips you apart. Your desperate cries became music to me. But your eyes still scorch my skin. Toxic are your words to me, But I’m not giving in. Lost in forgotten memories, Dying from eternal love. Nothing can stop the misery You can never suffer enough. Only your hollow soul, Can make me feel like this. Only you can make me smile, While dying from your loneliness. Shadows gaze upon, Lost and fallen souls. Soon we will become, A shadow of our own. Red roses floating silently While leafs fall off, one by one. If there was an end to see, But it had only just begun. Sorrow haunts and hope had fled, Lost in our own maze. Or as I rather call it a labyrinth. Because there’s no escape. We is me You is I Let us say The world goodbye. Nothing left, For us here Love forever Me, my dear. Our wedding is now a funeral. The mirror showed the truth. There was only one of us. And all of it was you. Dance with me, dance with me. Whisper words that will me shiver. Take me to your gloomy world. While drowning in a bloody river. |

The following poem is a "challenge" inside the novel Dom Casmurro (Machado de Assis). that gave only the 1st and the last verses. Oh flor do céu, Oh flor cândida e pura! = Oh heaven flower, Oh pure and cast flower! Pétalas límpidas, guiam a luz! = Clean petals, they guide the light! Perfume encantado, tanto seduz... = Enchanted perfume, charm so much... Eu me rendo à tamanha formosura! = I surrender to such beauty! Oh pássaro lesto, pássaro safo! = Oh joy bird, free bird! Com vôo tão breve e tão gracioso, = With so graceful and soon flight, penas elegantes, bico charmoso. = elegant feathers, charming beak. Canta alegre ao som do meu desabafo. = Gladly sings at my catharsis' sound. Um dia, meu Sol, hei de ganhar-te! = One day, my Sun, I will earn you! Fazer meu lume de tua fornalha. = Make my glow from your furnace. Derrotando a Lua, Vênus ou Marte! = Defeating the Moon, Venus or Mars! Não tememos nenhum astro canalha, = Don't we fear no canaille star, lutemos pelo amor de cada parte. = shall we fight for the each part's love. Perde-se a vida, ganha-se a batalha. = Life is lost, battle is won. |

BUSTED! It's a ... I forgot the word The name for this sort of rhyme... It was... Why do I write what I'm thinking? Seriously, NOw my post will be too long, erm what was it... omg, I knew it, I even write those sometimes, mostly used in the time of the humanism, the enlightning? Omg my English sucks... I need to know, can't use google... ARGH! erm, need to think hard brb *thinks hard* Ah! Sonnet Don't know if that's the English word too, but that doesn't matter And the language of the poem is Italian, where the *verlichting* begun, I think Anyway, I suck Nice poem though :p |

Hehe, thanks! Also, that challenge asked for a sonnet (I like them too). Anytime I can try to translate it in a sonnet (very hard, but not impossible). |

The only problem is that the sonnet won't stay a sonnet when you translate, because the rhyme shedule won't stay the same |

Sometimes we can adapt them... I think there is some Shakespeare's sonnets adapted to Portuguese; also The Edgar Allan Poe's Raven (I know it isn't a sonnet, but a long poem) was adapted very well. |

It's hard though, to translate it right and maintaining the context |
